1. Who was your first AG doll and why did you pick her? I got Kit for my seventh birthday. I liked her because my mom always said that I looked like her.
2. How did you find out about AG? I think I found out by reading the books.
3. If you could pick out another AG doll who would it be and why? I would pick MAG 23 or MAG 39 because I would love a doll that I could name myself.
4. Do you like Kanani, GOTY 2011?Why do you like her or why don't you like her? I'm inbetween on Kanani. I LOVE her long brown hair but her eyes just don't look right.

In a previous post, I talked about the apartheid and the issues surrounding South Africa. Well, I also mentioned the film "The Bang Bang Club". It looks gripping...and it has a bunch of cute guys in it. Can, I just say that non-american accents are just hot! It's supposed to be super tragic. But I'm going to go see it. and cry.
I just know already, that I'm going to cry like a punk.

So, I've been reading about South Africa, after some research on the up and coming film "The Bang Bang Club". It's about the riots and final wars during the last days of the apartheid and the photographers that brought those chilling images to us. Well, there is a new humanitarian problem. There is a two fold increase of poverty in South Africa...post apartheid. It's not the black people, but the white people. Afrikaans and Afrikaners are severely being impacted by the taxes and violence. It's being called "reverse discrimination". Everything that is being done to them, was being done to the black south africans in the 90's.
So, my question is: KARMA or INJUSTICE?
Is this just the universe balancing out the scales and these people are the new victims of an unfortunate trickle down? Or, Is there a serious problem at hand? But still, the same arguement can be made. What about this situation deserves action? Black Africans have been extremely poor for ages!!! So does this situation require action because the people in question are white??? History has always lended it's humanitarianism to the marginalized europeans of the world. But when ever brown people are involved...things take longer and don't get lengthy aid.
In my opinion, poverty of any kind is disgusting. So, these people being white rages me the same way it does when I see Sudanese/Congolese/Somalian corpses in ditches. The same strings are plucked. Is this the next big humanitarian project? Will it be resolved more quickly? Are you upset? If so, Why?
Personally, I feel somewhat torn because I believe in the power of the universe and karma, but I'm always on the side of humanitarianism...Especially when it involves racism.

Well, after my 15 week check-up, I discovered that I still had not gained any weight. Which is odd because I definitely have a belly and I certainly haven't been skipping any meals. And this leads me to 1 of 2 New Year's Resolutions. My first NYR is to eat more! How many times in my life will that be number 1?? But I am excited to continue to eat more than normal - and I will try to keep it healthy.
My second NYR is to work on my side consulting business. I have done a little bit of accounting/bookkeeping consulting for small businesses and I want to grow this into a full time gig. My goal is to not have to go back to Triad after the baby is born. My dream is to have a home based business that I can work on when I have the time and energy - no more commuting! And most quickbooks work is remote, so I can do it from home in my pj's.
My last announcement related to baby is that we have scheduled the next ultrasound to hopefully find out what it is! It is scheduled for February 14th, Valentine's Day! (And Hannah's 21st b-day!). I have never looked forward to a Valentine's Day like I am this year! So, with that news, I am going to see if I can add a poll for people to vote boy or girl. I have one up on the whiteboard at work, and boy is just beating out girl after one week. There's a lot more people in the office that need to come vote, so this should be interesting to see. And I can honestly say, I don't feel like I have a "mother's intuition" about it. Justin and I would both like a boy first, so I think that just for wishing it that way, we'll have a girl. But I really don't feel one way or the other. We will hopefully find out in a couple of weeks!

so in the Summer and I KNOW we are NO WHERE near the Summer I am going to visit my grandmother who has Lupus.I think that's how you spell it. After we might go to Disney world which I have never been to, I was going to go when I was younger but then my little brother came along and every time I asked my mom my mom said "let's wait until your little brother is bigger, that way he can enjoy it!" Well she said that we will try to squeeze in AG place!!! I hope it happens, I've never been to AG place. Anyways I am going to Denmark after as every Summer, and I am bringing one doll so who should it be??

So you probably know that I have the doll Felicity.
Now I am going to give her a review.
Condition : Felicity's condition is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Except one of her legs is kind loose.
Hair : Felicity's hair is great! At first before she arrived I was worried that her hair would be too brunet but I LOVE the colour!
Outfit : I really like her outfit but not really her dress fabric it's like kinda jacket fabric so the fabric's kinda weird.
Overall : Overall I think she is a GREAT TOY & not a rip-off !

In a previous post, I lemented about the annoying things in the world. Well, I'm ready to do it again. There is still tons of shenanigans in the world. (Or as my girl Natasha from THE YBF, says "FOOLEYWANG") There is still a bunch of crap that is going on in the world and we haven't mastered teleporting, their is still pickle juice, nickles, gypsy moths, war and John Mayer...oh the travesties of the modern world.
1.) TESTS:
Now, that I'm in a new accedemic setting, tests have taken an entire new form. One of malace and insecurity. I being the free, feminist, hippie that I am...ABSOLUTAMENTE hates taking tests of any kind. So I don't read periodicals with quizzes(Cosmopolitan, Seventeen...etc.) in them and I stress massively whenever it's time to take a test.
2.) Random Whores Posing As Liberated Feminists...And Recieving Fame:
Perhaps this is just a Kardashian thing, but I really hate the idea of them. It's so hard to gain respect as a woman. People always expect you to reduce yourself to your body or ticks. Being a liberated feminist and living as such is totally different than conforming to mainstreams perception of what you should be.
3.) CHANEL IMAN: AS A LINGERIE MODEL:
She's an amazing runway model, but seriously...she doesn't have the main assets that are required for lingerie. I'm sorry. Perhaps she should put on weight...but lingerie is to highlight T&A...Just look at the photo. I think she's great and I'm not hating...she just looks out of place in the commercials.
4.) GLEE: I hate you.
5.) 90210: SORRY TRISTAN.
This show is completely vapid. It insists upon itself...I hate it! Not as much as GLEE, but almost there. I sadly used to watch this show .
6.) NOT BEING IN NYC: I wish I was there!
When all of the cool parties and awesome stuff is happening, I'm here in Kentcky. WAAA
7.) NOT HAVING A POLAROID CAMERA: argh!

So, Not only is Larry Clark a prolific filmmaker...but he depicted a generation of children who were marginalized and blown off by mainstream media. When everyone else was watching Dawsons Creek and 90210; Larry was creating and innovating a new mainstream teen. Tiffany Limos being one of his muses appeared in my favourite Larry Clark film: KenPark. She played a budding sexual being under the oppressive environment of her religious father. Who was still mourning her mother. It was disturbing, but brilliant!

I love learning about cultural nuances, So when I stumbled across this article/expose'; It showed me an entirely different aspect of Latino Culture. Naturally, as a feminist, I'm always looking for injustices that are placed upon the marginalized people of the world. There were some commonalities and parallels between African American culture and Afro Latino culture...the same principles apply when it comes to beauty standards and ways of life. You should totally read this article...

I've been wearing these bad boys since 2008! I love them! These are the only sporty shoes I wear because I hate the way sneakers look on me. This movie blends two of my favourite things:

What else could a girl ask for???
So, basically a Ugandan Indian girl( Sarita Choudhury) moves to America due to civil unrest. The President of Uganda removed all of the Indians so they moved to Mississippi and opened up a motel/inn. She and this black guy( Denzel Washington) fall in love after they meet at a party. He really only talked to her to make his hammy ex-gf jealous...but then he realized that she was the bomb and then something happened. Of Course, her parents don't want her to date this black guy...So they keep pushing for this jank Indian guy. But Denzel has already kissed her...so there's no competition. So they decide to run away to Biloxi together But Her douche of a dad objects and then Denzel lectures him on the politics of race and colour. Denzel gets super upset with her over it, but she charms him back into loving her. So they run away together.NONE of her family is happy about this, but they are not suprised. In the end, her dad visits Uganda again after his banishment...then everything is peachy b/c order is restored...But I forgot some parts, so you should really just watch it.

Julie walked over to get her refill and just as she was walking back she slipped and all her juice spilled on Ivy.
Ivy shrieked and said ''YOU IDIOT'' and ran away. Everyone chanted ''Clutzilla Clutzilla Clutzilla''!!!!!
Julie ran as fast as she could into the second stall in the girl's washroom and cried. ''I'll go talk to her." said Bella. Jules are you in there?''GO AWAY'' said Julie. ''Julie I just want you to know that they're not really making fun of you they're making fun with you." said Bella. ''Really'' asked Julie? Yeah now lets get to history class.
AFTER HISTORY CLASS........
''Felicity wake up wake up''. said Mia. ''What happened?'' asked Felicity. ''Well... Julie,Mia and I didn't notice but you fell asleep and while you were asleep Ivy and her BFF Amy kinda well messed with your face.'' (below is a picture of what Felicity looks like after her uh make over)
''AHHHHHHHHHH'' shrieked Felicity. ''Is something wrong Miss.Merriman?'' asked Mr.Williams. ''Goodness gracious (Mr.Williams has a British accent) Miss.Merriman you look awful and your breath is terrifying worse than that girl Amanda Emerald her breath was quite smelly you could smell it from a mile away!Seriously Miss.Merriman try a breath mint or dog poop!''I can't believe Ivy and Amy would take down my hair,put fake bugars in my nose,put holes in the dress that my mother made me,put cheap and a poorly done make up job on my face and tie my hair into knots.''
