I am a Bella Certified Wedding Photographer working in Northern California.

Bella just launched a new studio, Studio Blue, to help provide more options for the brides in areas they serve.

I think this is interesting and it will be cool to see how Bella does now that they are offering customization on packages.
My wedding service, Northern California Digital Wedding Photography, has certainly been impacted by the economic climate and we are all making some changes.  A wedding is an event of monumental importance in a couple's life and while price is increasingly a factor, the couple's happiness is (and always will be) paramount.  In an effort to find advice for my friends, clients and readings I was reading Google newsletters about Wedding Photography and I came across this USA Today Story:

Couples saying 'I don't' to expensive weddings
USA Today - USA
Lee knows of wedding photographers who used to charge $20000 but now are discounting their fees by nearly 50%, "just to get some jobs. ...

Along those same lines (cutting costs without cutting into the fun) I saw that TheWeddingChannel now has a DIY Weddings Blog called My DIY Wedding Day.  I have seen (and taken photographs of!) some very nice DIY weddings.

Another great place to look for ways to save is by re-using or renting things that people were previously buying new.  TheKnot has a cool "Trash to Treasure" message board for members where last week's bride can help next week's bride.  Renting is another great option and here in the Bay Area you can find rentals of everything from wedding day jewelry for the bride to Rolex watches for the groom.

For my first day at Triad, they had a full bouquet of flowers delivered to my desk. They also took me out to a long lunch. I didn't even have to be there until 9 (I was there by 8:35) and left at 3:00. Told me to be back tomorrow at 8:30. Also, I have this Friday off. Normally I would not because they want me to be on opposite Fridays of my boss, but until I am trained, she said I should match with her schedule. I report to the controller, so when she is off on a Friday, I am her back-up. When I do get to my regular schedule I will actually end up having 2 Fridays off in a row. I won't be complaining. I can already tell from the training I did today that I am going to LOVE this job. I can't wait to go back tomorrow!

As a hopeless romantic and digital wedding photographer, I love reading about romantic wedding days and dreams fulfilled.

While I was doing some daily searches for inspiration and ideas for my Sacramento California Professional Digital Wedding Photography, I stumbled across this story:

Pair of Army captains gets a 'Wedding Day' to remember
New York Daily News - New York,NY,USA
To visit reception sites, interview photographers, pick invitations all takes a lot more time than we had anticipated," says Shawn, 26, currently on duty in ...
