Last Sunday, February 15, we had our first dinner party. Brandon came down from Dallas, so all of Justin's family was there. Gelea brought pork tenderloins and lemon icebox pie and I made oven roasted potatoes, fresh corn on the cob, roasted tomatoes with brie, and home-made bread. Everything was delicious! A couple of hours before the dinner, Justin picked up the dining table, 4 chairs, and an antique china cabinet from my Aunt Julia, who lives in Houston. The china cabinet belonged to my Grandma on my dad's side. Somewhere, according to Aunt Julia, she still has the original receipt for the piece which was bought in the 1920's in NYC. I have a few pictures of the dinner party and a couple we took later after I filled the cabinet with my crystal (from my maternal Grandmother) and a few china pieces (from Virginia Copeland and a set of bowls from my Aunt). I also just barely managed to fit in the cake stand from Grandma Virginia. I love how everything in the cabinet was given to me from family members on both sides!

This is for you, Ron. Here are some pictures of our snake, Boots. His name is Boots because if he ever misbehaves, he will be made into a pair of boots. He is a ball python almost 4 feet long. One of Justin's friends rescued him from a frat house, and I took him in from the friend. I definitely keep the cats away although they were very interested when I took him out last night. The cats were meowing loud and long and looking at the snake and me through the windows of the french doors. I don't think they liked it.

It's 2287 sf, 4 Bedrooms + a study, 2 baths, dining room, 2 car garage, laundry room and very open kitchen/eating/living room area. We love it!

Gizmo (black and white) and Doo-Dah (all grey), were brothers rescued from an empty apartment during Hurricane Ike. We found out after we looked through their vet records that their birthday is listed at 08-16-08, which is our wedding anniversary. I guess it was meant to be!
My first blog post! I created this blogspot as a way to keep everybody in touch with what is going on in Justin and my lives'. We have had so many changes lately that I wanted to be able to post pictures and keep everybody updated--and I thought this might be easier than email. In the past 6 months, Justin and I got married (6 months exactly to yesterday!), Justin graduated from Texas A&M, we both moved to Houston where we bought a house, and we have essentially both started new jobs. We also acquired a pet snake and 2 kittens to add to the dog we already had. Now we have started buying furniture and other household items, so everybody can watch us grow and accumulate. And when the day comes that we have children, the Grandparents can easily get updates by checking the blog. Even if I become too busy to actually write anything, I would at least try to get pictures posted. I have seen several of my friends do this, and I enjoy catching up with their lives through their postings and pictures. So, enjoy, and check back occasionally to see what else is new in our lives!

If you are looking for an affordable professional wedding photographer in Northern California.
I have published an updated California Wedding Photography site.

Come take a look at my Northern California Wedding Photography Packages & Prices Page or our extensive Wedding Photography FAQ for Brides.
As a California Wedding Photographer, I spend a lot of time reading about and looking at wedding photography resources.  You have to keep up with new trends, track current trends and I, personally, learn a lot from looking at and meditating on other photographer's wedding galleries.  Inspiration and ideas for my own work.

Doing random Google searches wedding photography searches today on Google and found this link story about 'Fergie, Josh Duhamel Release New Intimate Wedding Photos' which, apparently, the couple sold to Elle and US magazine.  I would not normally post anything about this particular celebrity status-quo, but Fergie and Josh took a new direction and, just perhaps, have triggered another trend in capturing the wedding day.  Captured the day after the wedding on-location in the honeymoon suite, Josh and Fergie held various intimate poses (and held each other) while the photographer worked to capture the special emotion (lust?) of the moment.  Interesting concept, and not that different than Trash The Dress, in terms of schedule (after the wedding,) cost (one additional photoshoot) and style (very personal and spontanious.)

Like the current 'Trash The Dress' fad, these new Intimate wedding day photographs have made there appearance in big-name print journals like Elle and US, so it is only a matter of time before someone has a blog and e-zine about it.  Or may not, a lot of people thought Trash The Dress would come and go too, but it is clearly here to stay (especially out west and for destination weddings, I think that has to do with beaches being a great scene for it.)

Wedding Photography By Cory Trese -- Sacramento Wedding Photography

As a Northern California Wedding Photographer servicing Sacramento and San Francisco I am always interested in new trends in wedding planning.

A recent increase in small destination weddings has made Destination Weddings at a Ski Resort increasingly popular.
As a San Francisco and Bay Area Wedding Photographer, I am always looking for good pages about weddings, wedding planning and the newest in wedding issues -- recession proof budgeting!

Today on TODAYOnline they posted a great story about Tying the Knot on a Tight Budget, worth reading. The stand-by lackluster ideas like less guests, commercial gowns and do-it-yourself-photography are there, but they have a few creative concepts to add as well.

Another resurgent concept is the all-outdoor wedding as a way to cut costs. My Sacramento California Wedding Photography studio is receiving increased numbers of requests for photography at all-outdoor weddings. Personally, I love them and I think that the people over at TheSpectrum do too, after reading this story about SkyHighLove, Southern Utah and Outdoor nuptuails.
I would like to thank all of you wonderful past brides that have been sending your friends and family members to me to photograph their weddings.
There is no better way for an engaged couple to feel as comfortable with their choice in their wedding photographer than to get a recommendation directly from someone that they trust.
Thank you for sharing your wedding pictures, albums and experiences from working with me on your wedding day.
